Who we are. ScrapBuyer (“we”) operates scrapbuyer.com.ph and buys metal scrap from corporate and institutional sellers in the Philippines. For privacy matters contact info@scrapbuyer.com.ph.
What we collect
Through the intake and accreditation-pack forms: company name, industry, site address, materials information, your name, role, mobile/Viber number, and company email. Automatically: standard server logs (IP address and pages requested). Only after you grant Analytics consent, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity receive the limited website-interaction data described below. Only after you grant Advertisement consent, Meta receives the measurement data described below.
Why we collect it (purposes)
To respond to your inquiry; to conduct KYC required of second-hand dealers under Philippine law (PD 1612); to prepare agreements, weigh tickets, invoices and official receipts (BIR requirements); to send documents you request (accreditation pack); and to maintain transaction records for audit and legal retention periods.
Legal bases & sharing
Processing rests on consent (you submitted the form), contract performance, and legal obligation (KYC, tax, and record-keeping laws). We do not sell personal data. We share it only with: our service providers (hosting, email) under confidentiality; and authorities where the law requires (e.g., BIR, law-enforcement requests made through lawful process).
Retention & security
Inquiry records are retained while relevant to an account relationship; transaction documents are retained per BIR and statutory periods. Data is stored on access-controlled systems; intake records live in our website database and company mailboxes with restricted access.
Cookies, tracking and advertising technologies
Meta Pixel. When you grant Advertisement consent, this website loads Meta Pixel ID 2326116444861483 (Meta also calls it a dataset), provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates. It may receive the page address and title, referring page, IP address, browser and device details, timestamp, and a browser identifier stored in the first-party _fbp cookie. It also receives only these configured actions: PageView; ViewContent after 30 seconds on the pricing page; Contact when a phone, Viber or email link is tapped; and Lead with RequestPickup or AccreditationPack after the website returns a validated intake-success flag.
What the pixel does not send. Meta’s automatic advanced matching is switched off on our dataset. The pixel therefore sends Meta nothing you type into our forms: not your name, company name, email address, mobile or Viber number, site address, or materials details. Those entries reach only us, by the means described under “What we collect” above. The pixel is also skipped entirely for logged-in administrators.
Automatic reading of page content by Meta. Meta offers a setting that allows its systems to read information already publicly visible on the page you are viewing, so that Meta can describe that page. That setting is switched off on our dataset. The pixel therefore sends Meta nothing about the content of a page beyond its address and title, as listed above.
Browser storage. Alongside the _fbp cookie, a successful form submission writes one short-lived entry to your browser’s session storage so the same enquiry is not counted twice if you reload the confirmation page. It is discarded when you close the tab.
Why we use Meta Pixel. To measure which pages produce genuine scrap-selling enquiries and to deliver and measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We ask for Advertisement consent before loading the pixel. You may withdraw that consent at any time through the consent-preferences button. Meta processes data for its own purposes under Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Transfer outside the Philippines. Data collected by the pixel is sent to and processed by Meta on servers outside the Philippines, including in the United States and Ireland. We rely on Meta’s contractual terms and safeguards for that transfer, and we remain accountable for it under the accountability principle in Section 21 of RA 10173.
Consent controls. On your first visit, choose Accept All, Reject All, or Customise. You can reopen the same controls at any time using the consent-preferences button at the bottom-left of the page. Disable Analytics to prevent GA4 and Clarity from loading on future page views; disable Advertisement to prevent Meta Pixel from loading. Rejecting or withdrawing consent does not stop the forms, phone links, email links or Viber links from working.
Google Analytics 4. When you grant Analytics consent, this website loads GA4 measurement ID G-Y94W4QWWXR. GA4 records page views and our configured non-personal events: phone, email and messaging-link clicks; 30-second pricing-page engagement; and generate_lead only after the website returns a validated pickup-request or accreditation-pack success flag. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, company details, addresses, material notes or uploaded filenames to GA4. Google processes the data under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Clarity. When you grant Analytics consent, this website loads the official direct tracking code for Clarity project yb2mwmk3fa. Clarity helps us understand page use through aggregated metrics, heatmaps and session-replay interactions such as clicks, scrolling, navigation and technical performance. Sensitive form fields are masked by Clarity by default, and we do not intentionally send the values you type into the intake forms. Microsoft processes the data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
International processing. Meta, Google and Microsoft may process measurement data on systems outside the Philippines. We use their contractual terms and privacy controls and remain accountable for our own processing under RA 10173.
Your rights (RA 10173)
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention duties), object to processing, and lodge complaints with the National Privacy Commission. Write to info@scrapbuyer.com.ph — we respond within the periods set by the NPC’s rules.
