Stainless scrap — where grade testing pays for itself

304, 316 and mixed stainless from food plants, pharma, kitchens and fabricators — graded by alloy, weighed with witnesses, documented for your asset-disposal file.

We buy stainless steel scrap from companies: 304 and 316 offcuts and equipment, mixed stainless, retired food-grade equipment (tanks, tables, conveyors, kettles), pharma and lab fittings, and fabrication offcuts. Stainless hides its value in its alloy — 316’s molybdenum makes it worth meaningfully more than 304, and both far more than 200-series lookalikes — so honest grading is where a stainless seller wins or loses.

How do we establish the alloy?

Markings and mill certificates where they exist; magnet behavior and spark/appearance checks as first-pass sorting; and for volume accounts where it matters, instrument verification of representative pieces, recorded on the ticket. The grade factor applied is written on your weigh ticket next to the weight — if a later test shows we under-graded, the formula trues it up. Guessing in the buyer’s favor is not a business model we run.

Retiring food-grade or pharma equipment?

Stainless process equipment is a classic disposal case: high residual value, brand sensitivity (your logo may be etched on it), and an audit trail requirement. We combine purchase with certified destruction where policies demand it — de-badging or destroying identifiable components, with certificate — while the alloy value still comes back to you at formula price.

Typical stainless accounts

Food and beverage plants, commissaries and central kitchens, pharma and cosmetics manufacturers, stainless fabricators, and laboratories. Volumes are usually episodic (line retirements, renovations) rather than weekly — a fit for one-time clearing with an account file kept open for the next cycle.
